Symptoms Of Acid Reflux
The flow of the acids from the stomach to the esophageal tube is called acid reflux. The exact cause of the disease is not yet known but researches in this area reveal the fact that the improper functioning of the lower esophageal sphincter (that is found in between the esophagus and the stomach causes the backward flow. Acid reflux is often accompanied by pain and heartburn.
There of many symptoms of the acid reflux condition. These include asthma (occurs when the acids reach the areas like throat, mouth and the air passages of lungs), dental erosion, hoarseness in voice, dysphasia or difficulty of the patient in swallowing anything and chest pain. The improper functioning of the LES or the lower esophageal sphincter at un appropriate times is considered the main cause that leads to acid refluxes. Proper treatment of acid reflux is necessary if they start to occur 2 or 3 times a week because if they are not treated properly and keep occurring for a prolonged duration, then the lining of tissues which protects the esophagus can wear out and get damaged. This condition is called erosive esophagitis.
